The program works in union with the Self-Assessment Guide (SAG) to direct meaningful CPD participation towards your identified professional objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-aad59b3cff5f253155211af3ac1f335a\" style=\"color:#1e22aa\">PARTICIPATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Certificate Type and Status will determine the level of CPD participation required. While all registrants should make best efforts to complete 50 CPD hours during each two-year cycle to maintain their knowledge and skills, CPBAO recognizes there may be circumstances where you are unable to meet the standard CPD requirements or are participating in continuing education and professional development through other regulatory processes applicable to your unique circumstances or career stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-black-color has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/fr\/membres\/quality-assurance\/\" style=\"border-top-left-radius:20px;border-top-right-radius:20px;border-bottom-left-radius:20px;border-bottom-right-radius:20px\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Review CPD requirements by Certificate Type\/Status<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:31px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c6e8472aa3bd59ac11ba2c97451836b7\" style=\"color:#1e22aa\">STANDARD CPD REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Registrants who are required to complete the Standard QA Requirements must undertake 50 CPD hours during each two-year QA cycle. They are not in addition to the 50 hours required. One activity may earn credit towards multiple content categories, e.g., ethics and supervision. This is not an exhaustive list of CPD activities. If the activity involved group attendance and\/or peer interaction, the hours may count&nbsp;<strong>as either<\/strong>&nbsp;Section A or B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Examples <\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you independently attend a 3-hour workshop, which involves 2 hours of lecture and 1 hour of scheduled breakout room discussions with other attendees, you may record <strong>either<\/strong> 3 hours in Section B,&nbsp;<strong>or<\/strong>&nbsp;2 hours under Section B for the lecture and 1 hour under Section A for the breakout room discussions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you attended the same event described in a) and also participated in 0.5 hours of additional, unscheduled peer interaction, such as Q&amp;A or dissemination discussions, this time may be counted under Section A&nbsp;<strong>in addition<\/strong>&nbsp;to the 3 scheduled activity hours.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-aa33bcf14b6e24b4cc3777fe112cfa2e\" style=\"color:#1e22aa\">ACTIVITY MAXIMUMS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No more than 10 hours <\/strong>per unique activity may be claimed to ensure participation in a variety of learning mediums. This maximum applies to both stand-alone events (e.g., course, workshop, readings, etc.) and recurring activities (e.g., supervision, consultation, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Examples<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you participate in two 13-hour workshops, you may claim 10 hours from each workshop attended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you attend a 2-day conference, you may claim up to 10 hours for each presentation viewed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you provide supervision to one or more supervisees, you may claim up to 10 hours in total for all supervisory meetings. Up to an additional 10 hours may be claimed if you also receive supervision from one or more supervisors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-63e1f9050fb7c16567b5a5b5a1c746de\" style=\"color:#1e22aa\">CPD INSTRUCTIONS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reflect on the <em>Professional Development Plan <\/em>objectives created in your SAG before the start of your two-year cycle. Use your plan to guide your choice of CPD activities in support of your objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download a <a href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/fr\/cpo_resources\/continuing-professional-development-cpd-program-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tracking sheet template<\/a> to record your CPD activities and document your participation throughout your cycle. This will help you monitor your completion of the CPD activity hours, learning mediums and content requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review your<em> Professional Development Plan <\/em>throughout your cycle to monitor progress made towards your objectives. Reflect on the knowledge or skills gained through the CPD activities completed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During the last year of your two-year cycle, you will be prompted to submit a <em>Declaration of Completion<\/em> through the Membership Portal before June 30th. Review your records to confirm that you have completed your requirements and submit your Declaration. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are not required to submit your completed tracking sheet or supporting documentation when making your <em>Declaration<\/em>. Store all records of your QA participation, including your tracking sheets and supporting documentation, for at least 5 years. These records may be requested by the College for auditing or assessment purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgroup-layout-blocks-cglp-callout-box is-style-cglb-callout-green\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">If you&nbsp;have questions or there are&nbsp;extenuating circumstances&nbsp;preventing you from completing your CPD requirements, you&nbsp;must inform the College&nbsp;between<strong> May 1 and June 30 <\/strong>of the year in which&nbsp;your&nbsp;Declaration is due&nbsp;by emailing&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:qualityassurance@cpbao.ca\">qualityassurance@cpbao.ca<\/a>.&nbsp;If CPBAO is not notified before the deadline, you may be selected to participate in a QA audit.&nbsp;<em>&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) component of the QA Program aims to promote professional competence and engage registrants in ongoing quality improvement of their own practice.
