COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Complaints and Reports<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 3rd<\/sup> Quarter, the College received 27 new complaints and opened 4 Registrar\u2019s Investigations, for a total of 31 new matters. The nature of service in relation to these matters is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICRC Meetings<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

he ICRC met on December 16, 2020, January 12, 2021, February 17, 2021 and March 23, 2021 to consider a total of 40 cases. The ICRC also held 10 teleconferences to consider 13 cases. A Plenary Session was scheduled for April 14, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICRC Dispositions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ICRC disposed of 39 cases during the 3rd<\/sup> Quarter, as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*F&V: Frivolous, vexatious, made in bad faith, moot or otherwise an abuse of process, pursuant to s.26(4) of the Health Professions Procedural Code.
\u2020SCERP: Specified Continuing Education or Remediation Program<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disposition of Allegations<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 39 cases disposed of included the consideration of 130 allegations. The ICRC took some remedial action with respect to 41, or 32%, of these allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 3rd<\/sup> Quarter, eight HPARB reviews of ICRC decisions were requested, and the College received two HPARB decisions. One ICRC decisions was confirmed, and one was dismissed as being frivolous, vexatious, made in bad faith, moot or otherwise an abuse of process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
