FIRST QUARTER, JUNE 1, 2023 \u2013 AUGUST 31, 2023<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the 1st<\/sup> Quarter, the College received 29 new complaints. The nature of service in relation to these matters is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICRC Meetings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The ICRC held two meetings, to consider a total of 18 cases. In addition, the ICRC held 17 teleconferences to consider 25 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first ICRC meeting for the 2nd<\/sup> quarter met once, with 5 cases on the agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICRC Dispositions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The ICRC disposed of 19 cases during the 1st<\/sup> Quarter, as follows. The ICRC actions ranged from providing advice to a referral to the Discipline Committee, in 10, or 53%, of these cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*F&V: Frivolous, vexatious, made in bad faith, moot or otherwise an abuse of process, pursuant to s.26(4) of the Health Professions Procedural Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2020SCERP: Specified Continuing Education or Remedial Program<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dispositions of these 19 cases, as they relate to nature of service, are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disposition of Allegations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The 19 cases disposed of included the consideration of 54 allegations. The ICRC took some action with respect to 24, or 44%, of these allegations<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the 1st<\/sup> Quarter, three HPARB reviews of ICRC decisions were requested. The College received four HPARB decisions, all confirming ICRC decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
