Information provided to members of Council for their review in anticipation of their deliberations and decision-making is posted on the homepage of the College website a week in advance of meetings. Following the meeting, this information is archived on the website in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/resources\/reference-library\/?rsc=council-meeting-materials\">Council Meeting Materials\u00a0<\/a>Reference Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changes to the College Council<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"535\" height=\"334\" src=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-121.png?wsr\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18044\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since proclamation of the <em>51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act (2021)<\/em> on July 1, 2024, there have been changes to the College Council. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are pleased to welcome our newest Council members:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ms. Mary Kalantzis (Public Council Member)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Ken Moreau (Public Council Member)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ms. Olivia Ng (District 8 &#8211; Behaviour Analysts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Conrad Leung (District 8 &#8211; Behaviour Analysts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ms. Kay Narula (District 8 &#8211; Behaviour Analysts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Kendra Thomson (District 9 &#8211; Academic)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Executive Committee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a first order of business, the Council elected an Executive Committee \u2013 Professional Member (Behaviour Analyst) for the 2024-2025 year. We are\u00a0pleased to congratulate <strong>Ms. Olivia Ng<\/strong> as a new member of the Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Policy Issues<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Council approved proposed amendments to By-law 19: A<em>ppointment of Non-Council Members to Committees of the College and Conditions for Disqualification <\/em>to be circulated for a 60-day public consultation period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed amendments prescribe a one-year <em>cooling-off period<\/em> as an eligibility requirement when appointing non-Council members to College committees. A&nbsp;<em>cooling-off period<\/em>&nbsp;for participation on Committees serves the same public interest purpose as the existing&nbsp;<em>cooling-off period<\/em>&nbsp;for serving on Council; avoiding real and perceived conflicts of interest. The consultation was circulated to members on October 1, 2024, with comments requested by <strong>Monday, December 2, 2024<\/strong>. The proposed amendments and a feedback submission form is available <a href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/about-cpo\/consultations\/#cooling-off\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Business Issues<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Membership Fees \u2013 Cap on Fees for Dual Certificate Holders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Council approved proposed amendments to&nbsp;<em>By-law 18: Fees, <\/em>specifically on<em> Section 18.5.2<\/em>. to be circulated for a 60-day public consultation period. The proposed amendment is to&nbsp;ensure that annual membership fees for dual certificate holders, regardless of the class of each certificate, do not exceed $1,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultation was circulated to members on October 1, 2024 with comments requested by Monday, December 2, 2024. The proposed amendments and a feedback submission form is available<a href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/about-cpo\/consultations\/#cap-on-fees-dual-certificates\"><strong>&nbsp;here<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Annual Financial Audit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Council received and approved the annual Audited Financial Statements for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2024.
