Information provided to members of Council for their review in anticipation of their deliberations and decision-making is posted on the homepage of College website a week in advance of meetings. Following the meeting, this information is archived on the website in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cpbao.ca\/resources\/reference-library\/?rsc=council-meeting-materials\">Council Meeting Materials&nbsp;<\/a>Reference Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CHANGES TO THE COLLEGE COUNCIL<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the March meeting there have been several changes to the College Council. &nbsp;Dr. Wanda Towers (District 3, Central) and former Council President has completed her term of office. We gratefully acknowledge her contributions and many years of service. Dr. We are pleased to welcome new Council members, Dr. Marian Boer, and Dr. Kieva Hranchuk representing District 3 and District 9 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a first order of business, the Council elected the Executive Committee for the 2025-2026 year. We are pleased to congratulate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Ian Nicholson \u2013 President<br>Dr. Peter Bieling \u2013 Vice-President<br>Mr. Glenn Webster \u2013 Professional Member<br>Dr. Rachel Wayne \u2013 Professional Member<br>Ms. Olivia Ng \u2013 Professional Member<br>Mr. Paul Stopciati \u2013 Public Member<br>Mr. Scott Warnock \u2013 Public Member<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>POLICY ISSUES<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Policies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Council approved revisions to the following policies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Policy I \u2013 6: Conflict of Interest and Reasonable Perception of Bias<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy I \u2013 6(a): Conflict of Interest and Reasonable Perception of Bias Agreement Form<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy I \u2013 13: Non-voting Psychological Associate Council Member<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy II \u2013 7 (i): Client Relations Committee Terms of Reference\/Role<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy III F \u2013 1: Budget Development<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy III F \u2013 4: Per Diems &amp; Council and Committee Compensation<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy III A \u2013 3: Privacy<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Policy III P \u2013 1: Employee Compensation and Benefits<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Registration Modernization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approved proposed plan to update the Registration Guidelines for Interim Autonomous Practice applicants from the USA to facilitate their registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System as accrediting bodies (in addition to the Canadian Psychological Association) who may approve doctoral degrees pursuant to s.5(1) of the Registration Regulation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved the redefinition of psychology\u2019s \u00ab\u00a0Client Groups\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0Authorized Practice Areas\u00a0\u00bb in favour of two practice areas \u00ab\u00a0Health Service\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0Industrial\/Organizational (I\/O)\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved a plan to identify jurisdictions equivalent to the College pursuant to ss 5(3)(1)(ii), 8(b), 16(5), 19(b) and 23(3)(1)(i) for expedited registration (psychology and ABA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Governance Modernization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Council approved strategies to modernize governance, including reducing Council size, adopting a hybrid appointment\/election model, implementing a competency-based framework, and enhancing separation between Council and Committees. The Ministry of Health will be advised of any required legislative changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OTHER BUSINESS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next meeting of Council will be held in-person on September 26, 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Committee Appointments<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Executive Committee has appointed Council and professional members to Committees for the 2025 \u2013 2026 term. Committees support the work of the Council and contribute towards advancing the College\u2019s mandate to serve and protect the public interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College has seven statutory Committees that are mandated to be established under the&nbsp;<em>Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991<\/em>. In addition, the College has two non-statutory Committees: Finance and Audit, and Jurisprudence and Ethics Examination. The Executive Committee is elected from the members of the College Council.
