Transitional Routes 1 and 2 for Behaviour Analyst registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2026.
Through the transitional routes, CPBAO has registered to date: 1943 Autonomous Practice Behaviour Analysts.
Individuals planning to apply are encouraged to review the registration requirements and available pathways on our website to ensure they meet the criteria and submit their application by the deadline.
For BCBA or BCBA-D Applicants
Individuals planning to pursue BCBA or BCBA-D certification and apply through Transitional Route 1 should be aware that BCBA certification applications for Ontario residents are expected to close shortly. Applicants are encouraged to confirm certification timelines directly with and ensure they can complete both BCBA certification and CPBAO application requirements by June 30, 2026.
After the Deadline
After June 30, 2026, applicants will still be able to complete CPBAO’s Jurisprudence and Ethics Course and the Assessment in Applied Behaviour Analysis (JECAABA) under both routes. Transitional Route 2 applicants may also complete the Ontario Examination for Professional Practice in Applied Behaviour Analysis (OEPPABA) after the deadline.
Applicants who do not meet the requirements or do not apply by the deadline will be required to apply through the Entry Level Route (Supervised Practice) or the Labour Mobility Route, which comes into effect on July 1, 2026.
